Lift off

There has been a fair bit of tidying and clearing at the loch this spring and a lot of dead trees and overgrown bushes have been removed. This means it is much easier to spot the heron but also means it can spot me with camera much more easily too! As soon as I got close it took off. 
The swans are building their nest in the same place as always and the only cygnet from last year that survived has now gone, it must have been time at last for it to to leave it’s parents and head off on it’s own.
The sky was lovely and blue when I was out walking in the sunshine at 3pm, a few hours later it was snowing, forecast to be changeable for the rest of the week.
