Pretending to be invisible

This blue heron was so still  beside this cypress tree. I think he was thinking we did not see him but we did.  He stayed for a few minutes while my friend Risee and I snapped photos.   Then he flew off...Risee was ready and got a couple shots of the flight!

We visited a Carolina Bay in Aiken which is about 45 minutes away.   It is part of a larger park but separate from it.  There is a walking trail around the pond.   This park is right in the middle of the business district!  We met up with a fox squirrel along the trail who gave us quite a chuckle!   His antics are in the extras.   

After this place we went to Hopeland Gardens which is a nice place with ponds and bridges and huge live oak trees.   There were gazillions of turtles in the water and on a "raft" in the water.  See the extras.  

A good day away from home.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a really rainy day but we will see if the weather person is wrong or not.
