rhubarb

I used two cards (bus pass and National Trust Membership) to visit Threave Gardens today. I wanted to see the daffodils which are planted in great drifts in front of the house; they did not disappoint (Ours were looking a little sad when I woke up this morning - a light covering of snow and sub-zero temperatures overnight had combined to knock them back a bit, but they have almost recovered).

The rhubarb in the walled garden at Threave is well ahead of ours; even the rows which haven't been forced. I love these big old terracotta pots.

The magnolia in front of the house is already shedding petals like confetti (see extra) and its scent is beautiful.

Sarah went for an induction today at The Usual Place - she is joining the bank staff. They must need her as she messaged to say that she was staying on until closing at 4.30. She should be home any minute now...
