Lunch by the river

Today we took the train across to York to meet some friends for a rather civilised lunch by the river Ouse.
This photo of The Star Inn The City was taken from across the river before we had a very nice lunch there. To the right of the restaurant is the 14th century Lendal Tower which contains accommodation for up to 6 which can be rented. 

We have had rather varied weather today. We woke to a light covering of snow in Harrogate, but it was sunny upon arrival in York when this shot was taken. Shortly afterwards there was a snow blizzard and a very chilly wind blowing so we were glad to get inside.
