Spring??

It was snowing quite heavily when I came down this morning to make our cups of tea - a bit of a surprise when all the weather forecasts were promising bright sunshine. But blue skies returned soon after, although the temperatures remained very wintry. Once again, the snow has coincided with the blossoming of our cherry tree.

I spent the morning visiting four sites in the John Clare Countryside area where the owners want to improve their value for wildlife. It was great to meet such enthusiastic people, but after four hours standing in a strong northerly breeze, the cold had managed to penetrate my many layers of clothing. It took me much of the rest of the afternoon to warm up!
