The Tchaikovsky Hall, Mayakovsky Square

Twenty minutes after the advertised start time for the programme, the hall started filling up. This was for the 140th anniversary of Rachmaninov's birth. We were to hear a feast of his music, including the 2nd Piano Concerto, which is one of my favourites. It was so good, we left after that, not wanting to hear anything that compromised the memory.
