Book launch

Our American friend Carrie Elkins has written a huge book on the British Empire called The Legacy of Violence which has been getting rave reviews and is already on its second printing.  Tonight was the London launch at Daunt books in Holland Park, it was better attended than it looked, honest, and then she threw a dinner for 32 in a little restaurant a few doors away. It was delicious.  V helped with the guest list so it was a good mix of interesting people.  We stayed up over night in Portobello hotel.
