First day of summer?

Ok so the sun isn't shining in this photo. But it was earlier, and it was actually warm! Here's D enjoying his first whole icecream - last summer he had to share mine. Yesterday he'd seen a giant icecream cone so today we bought him the edible cone we'd promised. Although I thought it might end up on the ground/all over him, he did a pretty good job of eating it - it just got a bit messy towards the end as it melted faster than he ate it. He'll get there though. He didn't want help from Mummy or Daddy!

Had a lovely day today - started back at the South Bank (we were here yesterday too) for a children's play about a boy who asks for help from the moon to make breakfast for his grandmother. His toy monkey comes to life and together with the genie of the saucepan he cooks up breakfast .... there's bollywood and break dancing and lots of things D knows - milk, eggs, toast.... for a small boy with a favourite toy monkey (D) it was great fun and at the end when the children were invited on the stage to dance D shot forward - and on seeing the breakdancing laid down to copy the back spins! Made us smile :) They then tucked into fruit with the cast - for anyone interested the play is Moon and Genie.

Friends joined us for lunch and we had a great afternoon catching up and wandering about.
