The inspirational Jess Philips

A lovely dinner with mum this evening in Oswestry before heading off for a Booka Bookshop event to hear Jess Philips speak. What an absolute powerhouse of a woman she is. Hilarious too.

A really inspirational event and an encouragement for all of us to be involved in getting things done and not standing around watching terrible things happen. Politics in this country are bleak but this evening gave me a glimmer of hope. Behind all the terrible headlines and awful politicians, there are brilliant, hardworking MPs (of all parties) doing their very best to make the lives of their constituents better.

Jess spoke a couple of times about the effectiveness of emailing your local MP. A lot. I asked her afterwards: ‘what if your local MP is Daniel Kawcyznski?’.
‘Keep emailing. Don’t give up!’
