Surf's Up
Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . . . . to island hop
We headed north today, leaving South Uist behind and heading over the causeway to Benbecula, where we called in to see our friend Catherine. Then it was another causeway that took us to North Uist and on to Berneray. In the mists of time, these were all separate islands - but it's now possible to drive from one end to the other.
A ferry was necessary to take us from Berneray northwards to Harris - taking about an hour to make the crossing. But then Harris is joined up to Lewis, the most northerly island of the Outer Hebrides so the rest of our journey today was done in the car. We are now happily installed with good friends, Alasdair and Seonag near Stornoway.
The above is some of the surf on the way . . . . . . . . .
