Putting My Foot In It

Today's image is about paying a tribute to my faithful old trainers. I've literally been putting my feet in these trainers (there's only one in this shot as the other one threw a bit of hissy fit as I wasn't showing its "good side") for years.
They've seen me through me so much - running up to four times a week, numerous 10K's , a half marathon, long walks, hill climbs and all kinds of weather conditions - thick mud and snow, blizzards, torrential rain and heat waves and they've survived all of it. Unfortunately, they are now coming to end of their natural life as nearly all the tread has gone (if they were tyres I'm sure they'd be illegal!). Their latest indignity was to get inundated with sea water at Broadstairs but I managed to revive them with a sport shoe wash in our washing machine. So for now they live to fight another day.
I tried to make today's shot look like the trainer equivalent of one of Hermes's winged sandals but this is a bit of an epic fail on that front (the only accessories I could find were a bit of distressed tissue paper and a stray feather)!
I've completely overshot myself with the Hermes comparison - he is pictured as a young, athletic god without a beard - which most definitely does not apply to me! :-)
