Broadway Tower

Another day, another bright idea that didn't quite work out as expected.

The day did seem to be racing away with not much achieved actually. A fair bit of time was spent changing a light bulb in the en-suite. Last time I changed one I didn't realise the glass surround fitting was not actually fixed to the ceiling. It broke into rather a lot of pieces as it fell on to the tiled floor. I managed to get an identical replacement and was much more careful this time, so no similar mishaps.

First thing this morning we had an unexpected delivery of some custom glass splashbacks I had ordered  for the downstairs cloakroom. They are OK but being glass the colour does not match the same colour we tried on the walls. So we have had to spend some time on a rethink of the wall colour. I think we know what we are going to try now.

Anyway, it seemed to be a lovely day that we were wasting so mid afternoon we decided to drive to Broadway Tower, not having been there for many, many years. We set off in lovely sunshine, but as we got closer the sky ahead looked a bit ominous and nearly there we found ourselves driving through a snow storm! We went to the cafe on arrival, why not, and sat under cover outside while the snow passed over. I had to put my hat over the camera to keep it dry walking from the car to the cafe. As I expected it did clear up and we were able to walk to the tower. We had it to ourselves.

There were lots of deer but they all seemed to be in an enclosure. From other images I had seen on here I expected them to be more free roaming.

In other news grandson Rory is 7 today. He has been on a day trip to the Isle Of Wight. His main present is a 'proper' camera. I'm looking forward to seeing his images. Daughter#2 says he looks just like me! (see second extra!)
