Ti and Bee
Cordyline fruticosa is called 'Ti' in many parts of the Pacific. It originates in the lands between Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea and was spread through the Pacific by early Island people. In Asia and the Pacific it has many ceremonial uses (see Wikipedia). It is a common garden plant around Lennox Head - this one in our garden was very popular with honey bees today. The leaves of the species are a deep rich red colour, seen here in the background.
