Looking towards Kaitorete Spit and Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere). What a stellar autumn day, perfect for a bike ride. I tested my knee with a bit of hill riding. It was ok, just the odd grumble, and no lingering pain.

My ride included less than 3km's on a highway. In that time I faced a motorcycle coming straight at me at speed. Such stupid passing! Yes, I flipped the bird!

I enjoyed coffee and a cheese scone at my halfway point. A fantail chattered and flittered around my table. Nice.

Yes, the observant will note that's not Bert. Indeed, it's Mac.
