Why Its Greased Lightnin da da da

Have seen this bike parked outside a local shop duirng the past week or two and kept meaning to call in and have a chat with the owner and obviously grab a blip.
The lad that owns this gorgeous BSA 650 Lightning uses it for his winter hack !!!!! his dry bike is a BSA 400 that doesn't see the rain. The 650 bike rebuilt from a dog eared frame with the engine in place and a big box of bits & pieces. He's done some performance work on the current piston head and if it continues to prove alright he'll do the same work on the original heads. He's due to go to Belgium next month for his continental short break on this bike truely a get it out and use it.
The Lightning was accepted as the BSA all-round sportbike of the Sixties, some of you who have no idea what this bike is may recognise it in the James Bond film Thunderball (I know not one of the best) it was a fully-faired Lightning that was kitted out with car-seeking missiles to take on James Bond in the Thunderball movie. The lighning was also a police favourite at the time
