Albufera
We went to Albufera today, the birth place of paella. The original version contained rabbit, but fortunately today there are other options (chicken for Andreya and veggie for Sarah and I). They were delicious and consumed the correct way, at lunchtime rather than in the evening.
Beforehand, we went for a walk round the nature reserve and then on a boat trip around the lagoon. On the bus journey in I noticed what appeared to be hundreds of cormorants, however, on closer inspection later I realised they had bendy beaks and were in fact glossy ibis. We also saw loads of egrets, herons, swallows and black-winged stilts (a new one on me). Fantastic.
