2022 Sunday — Palm Sunday

We went to church (online) in two different places today -- Palm Sunday. At Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio, Pastor Alistair Begg mentioned that this day would have been called “Branch Sunday” if the Apostle John had not used the word “palm” in his gospel because the other gospel writers referred to "branches" not "palms." In Chino Hills, CA, Pastor Jack Hibbs spoke for a moment about the “rocks crying out” and what that might have sounded like if it had happened.

Both of these pastors -- Pastor Begg and Pastor Jack -- have personalities that are quite different from the other. I like them both and they both made us feel like we were in Jerusalem with Jesus. The two churches have music that is quite different from the other. Both churches are similar in that they have huge congregations.

Forty-six years ago was our first Easter knowing that our sins were forgiven and that Jesus is our Lord. We both grew-up in churches that emphasized "being good enough" to be let into Heaven. We were not taught about the grace of God and that Jesus died to pay the penalty for sin. We knew nothing about forgiveness. We knew nothing about accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We knew nothing about the importance of the Bible. The Jewish Old Testament is proved in the New Testament writings. There’s a day coming when “the trees will clap their hands”! I hope you know Jesus as your Lord and King. The Bible proves the existence of God. Do you know Him?
