More Alcohol
I've made good progress on the decorating front today - two coats of First Frost applied to the cloakroom walls. It may not need another coat, we will decide in the morning. We still like the colour :-)
There hasn't been much time for photography as a result. Inspired by the camera club presentation last night I've had another quick go at focus stacking. First I had a play with the in camera feature of the Fuji, with my trial version of Helicon. The 100V automatically took 23 images of a small statuette but even with 23 layers to work with the final image was disappointing. I need to spend more time on it to understand what the settings actually do.
We were also shown last night how to use Photoshop to edit the layers, but this isn't an option with Elements which I use. I did find some YouTube videos though that explained how to use Photomerge to combine images. That seemed quite easy to use, though it is a more manual technique and would be difficult to work with 23 source images I think. This has worked well though, using just three source images, focused manually, and hand held.
