Parklife

Despite the tragic news of shootings in Brooklyn this morning, Manhattan seemed to settle quickly into the lovely warm spring day.  It had started off cloudy and wet and our trip to the Top of the Rock for views of the city did not start off promisingly.  However after half an hour or so the clouds lifted and we got the classic view in sunshine (see extra).

In the afternoon I walked up to the Met on Central Park for a quick tour.  Very impressive.  Then as it had turned into a beautiful warm day I wandered round Central Park.  The place was very busy with joggers, cyclists, dog walkers, faimilies, tourists, sports men and women and locals.  As the blip shows one of the main park areas was dotted with people relating in the sunshine watched over by the tall thin skyscrapers.  

the evening has been spent packing as we move on tomorrow to the next stage of our trip.
