Philadelphia

Gridlock in New York this morning added to the fun of the journey.  Streets around Penn Station were cordoned off which meant a several block detour in crawling traffic.  Horns blaring all the time.  Fortunately we had allowed plenty of time and arrived comfortably for our train.

It was a beautiful clear warm sunny day in New York.  By the time we arrived in Philly at 1:30pm it was a hot day.  By 5:30pm it was 27 oC!.

Both train stations very grand and clean and the journey very easy.

We met up with the rest of the family and had lunch.  I tried a version of the Philly cheesesteak.  Tasty and salty - probably taken a day off my life but very welcome.

We then met up at our nephew's house in the evening to catch up.  So much quieter here than NYC.

The blip is of the view a few feet from the front of the hotel we are staying  in.  Don't think the Union Jack was flying just for us.
