Holy Week Tableau

I slipped up to church this morning to do a quick Easter photo shoot. The scene with the cross, the tomb and the female figures is set up in an alcove at the back of the church and the larger, rough cross with nails is in the chancel (see extras).

The Wednesday communion service had just finished, and the church was empty except for me and my camera – but it won't be on Good Friday for the three hour service, there will be many people sitting in quiet contemplation, praying and singing hymns. Then on Easter Sunday the church will be thronging with people of all ages coming to celebrate the good news of Jesus' resurrection. I feel so blessed to have been a member of the church family here for fifty years.
