Middleton Lakes

We met our friends John and Jennie at the RSPB Reserve at Middleton Lakes.  The plan was for a picnic lunch then a walk through the woods to the lakes.  Although the weather forecast was cloudy but dry, April had another idea and we had some heavy showers.  Luckily there is a shelter at the picnic area to where we retreated to eat our sandwiches in the dry.

During a break in the rain we went for our walk, though it did rain again whilst we walked through the woods, though eased as we reached the lakes.  There was a lot of gull activity.

It was then back to the little shopping square by the hall for a warming drink under the outside seating shelter as the rain started again.
