Out and About

I had to go to the GPs this morning for a blood test.  On leaving we took a walk into town to view the new freedoms.  The weather was reasonable and most of the cafes were open and had customers sitting outside, allowable since yesterday.   Henley Street was beginning to look more alive, though still not over busy or crowded, and Cafe Nero was open.  Conveniently there was a table free so Ann and I sat down, checked-in for Track-and-Trace and  settled in for a cappuccino and peppermint tea, plus a good people-watching session.

From there we wandered down the pedestrianised High Street towards the river.  Bancroft Gardens was scattered with picnickers and small groups.  All suitable distanced from each other.  There was an atmosphere of quiet optimism, it felt good and safe.

Back on Bridge Street Ann met up with her regular Big Issue seller, able to try and earn a little money again.

All in all, a good day and maybe just a glimpse of a new-normal future?
