Not So Wild Turkey
Our jake turkey seems to have adopted us. He comes over the roof, jumps down to the porch rail and feeds on whatever he can find beneath the bird feeders. He's not bothered by us or even by Spike, although Spike seems a bit baffled by his presence. He looks a bit disheveled as if he's been picked on.
It's jump board week at Pilates. It's difficult to explain what that is but suffice it to say that it certainly works the abs! I was sore from Monday when I got there but doing it again, along with a fair amount of balance work, I felt better on the way out than I did on the way in!
Stopped by the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and the kitchen store (Sur la Table) in search of a mold for a traditional Easter dessert I offered to take to a brunch on Sunday and a compost bucket. They had neither and the shelves looked a bit bare. I think they are really struggling as are many other shops in this 'upscale' outdoor shopping mall. This may be partly due to Covid closures but also perhaps because the whole place has been purchased by a Boston development company and nobody knows what is going to happen.
Santa Rosa is not exactly a shopping mecca and the downtown mall is really dreadful...It's sad to see the one area that used to have a few independent, interesting shops slowly turning into a bit of a ghost town.
On the other hand, when John and Dan met at Trail House for their weekly beer today, the cannabis dispensary behind it was having a party, complete with a psychedelic green caravan parked in the only parking spaces, loud music and somebody blowing bubbles. I know this because Dan sent a video to our little group of John checking it all out.
Never a dull moment here in Santa Rosa.
