Villa Melzi

No organised trips today so we headed over to Bellagio and walked down to the Villa Melzi. It was apparently Monty Don’s favourite Italian garden. As we know, the guy has taste.

I think it’s my favourite too.

We had stunning weather. (We’d struck lucky with a super place for Prosecco and  appetisers which included mini pizzas and some of the most delicious pecorino and olives you could find anywhere.)

The walk along the side of the lake through the amazing Japanese styled gardens and the exquisite statuary was unforgettable. (Extras).

We ambled back and then returned to our hotel for a swim in the beautiful pool.
