It's the Weekend!

..and there's a massive blizzard out west in Manitoba, and snow in the forecast for Ontario on Saturday...and in Whitby? They are out riding the waves!

After book club in Port Perry this morning, and some errands to do here back home, I thought that, before the day was done, I had better take a little side trip to the lake in search of a blip. I must admit I didn't expect to find anything as colourful as these keen beaners out on the water! A fabulous turquoise wing kite and foil ..and a windsurfer with that striking yellow and white sail. There was a third sail barely visible out on the horizon..but too far for out to brighten up the beach scene...With their permission, I stood around, in awe, snapping photos that were mainly unusable due to having only an iPhone...not exactly the lens required for this! But it was fun and I did end up with a blip and an extra! 

For the first time, our book club meeting was held in the morning..as our host had a work commitment in the afternoon..It was kind of neat for a change - coffee and hot cross buns, rather than wine and snacks or a full sit down dinner..The book was The Midnight Library..and as expected, it did elicit some good discussion..The one person who did not like the book at all, admitted that it was the best discussion we have had; we weren't focused on the book itself as much as on the thought-provoking questions it raised...it just needed a prompting opener to get people talking...and many thanks to those of you who offered suggestions when I asked; I am the host next month, so may be asking for ideas again...

Tomorrow we will still have some decent temps to start the day, but then for the rest of the weekend, we are in for rain and snow flurries... geez.... Can't blame those guys for grabbing today's window of opportunity to get out on the water!
