Gorgeous gorse

We had a lovely walk in Mountstewart today, almost 10,000 steps! The Ards Man always has a bigger step count than me for the same walk, so I reckon I must have a longer stride.

Hot cross buns were had with our coffee near the piggery (no pigs around for decades!), very appropriate for Good Friday. The gorse was growing in profusion around a one thousand year old motte; it’s so fascinating to have a glimpse of how/where people lived all those years ago. It’s a large structure but I’ll try to get a photo of it next time.
