The Auberge Espagnol
Well aware this is a terrible photo but the memories; when you host a party and the teachers end up dancing on your dining room table, you know you've done alright.
So today was Laura's 23rd birthday and so we were hosting chez nous. Starting the morning with drinks with Sebastian to celebrate the end of my translation work for him. Two espressos (had to look up had to spell the plural!) are a great start to the day. Accompanied with a bit of sunshine and it started like one of those days that just goes well. Went shopping for all that we needed for soiree and came home to get on with some cooking and translating and generally pretending to be productive!
Had my last lesson with my 3ieme euro, who had all signed a lovely card for me, even if they're far from my favourite class. After a trip to the boulangerie to stock up on bread for tapas. 2 and a half hours of manic cooking and organisation, our guests started arriving.
Not much more to say than an increible evening where I realised just how much progress I've made in French and how lovely everyone around here. Dancing, eating, drinking, singing and normal life in French.
When everyone left around half 2, I still had a lesson to prepare for college tomorrow morning. Lesson planning at 4.30 in the morning isn't something I'd planned for my last week here but what can you do?!
