Fais Gaffe

This is my now 23 year old housemate Laura. I'm not always nice about her, I should be nicer because really she's quite nice.

My 8am was not easy this morning. 3 hours sleep and a class full of excitable kids eating Marmite and jelly... ideal. Going to miss these kids though, they're funny. Even at 8 in the morning. After the class, I reviewed the pupils with Philippe, I felt so horrible giving some of them bad marks. It must be hard as a teacher to distinguish between the kids that you like, and the kids who are actually good at your subject because they're not necessarily the same, which is not something I had ever really considered before.

Came home for a fun skype with Tom and got some translation done on the balcony. It's surprising how much happier I am when there's a bit of sunshine! Said a few things I'd been meaning to say to a few people, and was underwhelmed by the response... never mind.

After my afternoon class at college (got a really sweet card from the kids) and having to give my keys back, and refusing to say goodbye to Veronique because I wanted to pretend I'm not leaving, I visited Madame Granjean (no idea how her name is spelt!) who said I can stay in the apartment which would be great. Only a job to achieve now!

Met Ludo after he finished work and went to theirs to help them prepare for the soiree (aparently preparing required watching Game of Thrones). We were joined by Hati and Dom, Laura, Greg and Maxime. A few awkward moments where people mentioned things they shouldn't have (Laura!) and where food was too cooked, not cooked enough or just very gluten free.

Dom played guitar for us which was cool and we made churros. Got home at 1.30 and decided taking a shower and lesson planning was essential before sleep.
