Lima to Cusco
We got up early and had a wander down to the ocean, through the Kennedy Park with its cats. Back to the hotel to meet the boys before heading to the airport flight to Cusco. Amazing views of the andes with still some snow, a bit of a scary landing as you fly up the valley with mountains on either side. Edwin not feeling great so let him rest while we too a wander. We all went up to Sacsaghuaman a Inka fortress, huge stones been put in place with no gaps or use of mortar. Great views over the city. A few issues with the taxi back but we made it eventually ending up in a bar with great views over the city. Hanis reacted badly to the altitude and fainted lots of help from the locals. We headed back to the hotel, to find out that the strike by bus drivers was happening and we had to leave within 15 mins to Ollantaytambo. Bags packed hotel found off we went. Both boys now not feeling great a very bumpy road which didn't help. Got to hostel only to discover it had been closed for a month!! B&b next-door thankfully had a room so all together. Left boys sleeping and we took a wander, thankfully found a bar as a drink was definitely needed.
Can't believe only day 2!!
