The Princess and the Dog

Strange Start

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny

There is a garden (just down the road from Albert’s house) where someone has started making chainsaw carvings.

I find chainsaw carvings fascinating. Just the idea that a lumberjack got bored one day on his tea break and decided to carve an eagle*.

Also fascinating - when you Google “origins of chainsaw**”, it was originally used (before Caesarean sections were common practice) if babies became stuck on the way out.

“Two doctors invented the chainsaw in 1780 to make the removal of pelvic bone easier and less time-consuming during childbirth”

Just Ew. Going back to eagles now.

*Not officially the origin - some dude called Ray Murphy claims to have started it all in 1952 by carving his name (and some rude words) into a piece of wood with his dad’s chainsaw.

**who doesn’t!
