Life through the lens...

All good things!

Lovely sunshine, and warm, but oh so windy!

Our first visit of the year to RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate.

The Alpine greenhouse is at it's best at this time of year. Full of all the vibrant colours of the tiny Alpine plants, beautifully arrange in their pots.
But unfortunately because of the gale force wind they had to close it.
Never mind we had a lovely walk round the gardens.
Lots of Spring flowers coming out, and rhododendrons beginning to flower.

The photo on the left is the stream and the woods. As you can see the wind had blown over one of the benches.
The bright yellow flowers by the stream are :
Lysichiton Americanus or Yellow Skunk Cabbage.
Called this because of the "skunky" odour that it emits. ( I couldn't smell anything though)

The photo on the right is the Very yummy fresh fruit hearts from Betty's.
The queue was so long we bought quiches, sausages rolls and fancies from the counter, and had a picnic!

Purchased two small alpine plants for the stone trough in our garden, and a pot of jasmine for indoors.

On the way home we called at "Go Outdoors" and I bought a hat, to wear when walking.
Helios Sun Hat. UPF 50 + SolarShield.
That should protect me from the sun!

After all that it's a quick tea off egg and chips.
MrC is busy chipping while I am busy blipping!

Have a look large. Further photos on blip folio see here
