Furled Fern Fronds
We awoke to lovely sunshine this morning, and after our normal routine we went for a good walk in Shell Bay wood.
The birdsong was plentiful and the light through the trees showed all the new growth, particularly the emerging, still curled, fronds on the thousands of ferns covering a large part of the wood. I had been wondering when they would make an appearance.
As we drove home I could see the Haar moving in, and by the time we were home the sea and sky had disappeared in a grey/white blanket of nothingness.
The temperature dipped dramatically so there was nothing else I felt like doing but cuddling with Geordie on the sofa, with a hot water bottle and my book - all afternoon.
