Resilience
A glorious day up on the Dava, sunny and warm - reaching 17c.
On a previous visit to Heatherbell, the corrugated iron cottage built for railway workers, we had noticed the leaves and seedpods of daffodils in the long abandoned garden. In the hope that they might now be in flower we returned to Heatherbell and were delighted to find not only the daffodils but large clumps of primroses flourishing despite years of neglect. There was something quite moving in the survival of what appears to have been a carefully tended garden long after the departure of the gardener.
