The Fodderletter Lum standsby the side of the 'Snow Road' from Grantown-on-Spey and Tomintoul. It is a free standing chimney which was used in the 1920s and 30s by the gangs of road men responsible for maintaining this exposed road. They would erect a portable shelter against the fireplace side (See extra) to provide some shelter from foul weather.
