From Standing Stones to lighthouses and seabirds

Yesterday we went up into Lewis, the Northern end of this isle. We went up to see the ancient standing stones on the west coast on Callanish. Older than Stonehenge and set out in the form of a cross these 5,000 year old stones were a delight to see. They are part of several different stone installations scattered about and believed to have some kind of astrological meaning.
We moved on up to the 'Butt' of Lewis which is the very most northern point, this has the dubious distinction of being the windiest point of the UK. A lighthouse, wild seas and quite a few nesting birds make up this isolated spot.
