Glorious Garden in the Glen
Glorious today - along with Daughter Two we decided, rather late, to take a picnic somewhere and decided on Angus's Garden, in Glen Lonan. See -http://www.barguillean.co.uk/angus_garden.php
We eventually decided to pay a visit and come home for a late lunch, so that's what we did. We drove the long way, which is the scenic way, out of Oban via Glencruitten and along the length of Glen Lonan, free of cars even on such a cloudless day.
Part way along we came across the resident Highland cattle, complete with young 'uns, and at the risk of looking like a tourist, I stopped to take some pictures as they were nicely grouped in the foreground of a wonderful view of Ben Cruachan, standing clear against a deep blue sky.
We took the long route round the garden which leads the visitor around the back of Loch Angus. We were aiming for the small promontory housing Deirdre's Bell, but as we approached it was obvious that we were not the first as a wedding was taking place there! So we enjoyed the scenery, the nesting swans and the flying
ducks and will have to ring the bell next time.
We'll probably come back in a couple of weeks as not a lot was blooming and even the bluebells, or which there are millions, were not yet in flower.
