Friends and neighbours.

The last day of the Easter school break and my stay here in Bath has been a lovely one. Lots of warm sunshine and blue skies without that recent pesky wind.

Two of Grace’s neighbours had birthdays this weekend so it was arranged to meet up at Hartley’s Farm, near Bradford on Avon for a coffee/brunch celebration.  J, sitting in the middle, chose to spend her birthday yesterday doing a marathon walk around Bath, L her partner sitting to her right did it with her as did her sister (right) over from Ireland. L could  barely walk today! We had a lovely time having a good laugh about this and a good discussion of Grace’s  performance in Evita which they all went to see.

A, sitting next to Grace had her birthday today, and the farm was her choice. A lovely farm shop with a restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. Animals to look at in the meadows if you wished and a children's play area. G, A’s kiwi husband is out of the shot as he was with Eda and Madeleine in the play park. John didn’t come as he was at home painting.
Jude was having a lovely time playing with her ball and eating!

There were some lovely flower beds, some possibly being grown for sale in the shop.

In the afternoon, back at home, everyone brought food around for John to cook a sausage BBQ some of which had been purchased at the farm shop. A brought a box of cider to celebrate her birthday and everyone had a great time, adults and children alike. It seems that Grace and John have the ‘go to’ place for these gatherings in their garden or house. They are all such lovely people and have made  the family’s first year here a very welcome one.

A great way to round off the school Easter holiday and my stay.
