we're jake the peg.
a morning pottering and doing homework as we stayed at home while the school became a polling station. then i suddenly hit my 'oh my god, let's go out' threshold and shimmied everyone out to eat a picnic in the park with other school refugees. then off to the southside for ice cream and tuna pasta with bessie the big black labador and her tribe.
i wonder if i'd have been a better mother with more kids or in an extended family set up. i'm always a better mother when i'm out of the house. so i drag everyone out all the time and then come home and wonder why we never play with our toys.
took carpetbiter1 out with me to vote. i always feel nostalgic for being taken out to the polling station by my mum - although she never let me in the booth with her - it's something about being out after tea time when it's warm and sunny. got confused and didnt quite manage to vote for who i wanted on one of the bits of paper but i suspect it's not going to make a significant difference. but then that's the funny thing about elections - one vote doesnt make a difference but it's just a bunch of one votes...
