it was only the second time ever for the kids. last time was last easter in australia when it really was the only food to be found in the sydney olympic village (really). this time it was to chivvy two tired carpetbiters through the journey from glasgow to fort william straight after school.

we travelled on heartened by the evil mc calorie (i ate salad but i did read mr skaterg1rl's calorie and fat intake to him off the side of his second big mac box) (he has good life insurance i am glad to say).

went over the bridge to skye and ended the evening at kyleakin beach skimming pebbles into the water (all of us), drinking beer (adults) and eating crisps (all of us) outside the king haakon pub.

kids fought over who was getting the top bunk in the youth hostel. carpetbiter2 won but he was a bit thrown by the fact that i semi-sleepwalked as i jumped out of bed at 2am and tried to take him for a wee (something we usually do at bedtime).
