Plummy

Just now the plum trees are in bloom
All before my wife's study room...

(with apologies to Rupert Brooke, and also to my colleague Mary Archer and her well-known author-husband Jeffrey, who now live at the Old Vicarage).

Indeed, the photograph here is of the view from Mrs Scharwenka's study, which looks onto our back garden. The pink and white blosseom of the plum trees spreads right across the garden, and makes it seem as though spring has really decided to visit the UK this year after all.

At the bottom on the decking can be seen the old lavatory cistern that we found hidden in a bush when we moved in to our house, and that we have pressed in to service as a very useful flower pot!
