Jenny’s Cove

We spent the day exploring more areas. We had a long seawatch at Jenny’s Cove, plenty of puffin behaviour to see, and fulmars, guillemots, razorbills.
In the afternoon we walked along the east coast path, as the wind had finally dropped and it was a lovely afternoon. We were rewarded with an hour watching Bottlenose Dolphins! They were close under the cliffs and swam back and forth for us, a perfect end to the week.
Another treat in the evening was a walk in the dark with the warden, to listen to the Manx Shearwater calling and watch them being ringed. They migrate all the way to Patagonia and back, and the oldest one recorded has been fifty years old! They only weigh around 200grams, and the young birds fly all that way on their own. How remarkable!
