Queen bee

I don’t know if it’s a queen bee but it was pretty big. She was trying to find the way out of the shed but kindly let me take a photo before she escaped.
We’ve got plenty of lavender in the garden for bees. 
We went to the garden centre but not for long. Norm is still in pain from the abscess. We chose plants quickly and I don’t think they’re the best. I bought some cut and come again lettuce but they look half dead. I’m hoping they’ll revive overnight.
