Back blip. What a perfect day!
A rather late night/or early morning when we returned from the wedding reception to our hotel yesterday..
It was such a perfect day.
Wandering around the grounds after the wedding ceremony, before the reception, was a delight under the blue sky and warm sunshine.
There were drinks and canapés available in a corner of the gardens.
The pool, which was filled with huge koi carp and smaller fish, sparkled in the brightness of the afternoon with its dancing fountain.
The Wedding Breakfast was at 4.00 pm, punctuated with lots of songs from musicals, performed by the friends of the bride and groom, who themselves were both former members of the Cambridge University Musical Society.
Lots of impromptu singing too, including the bridegroom’s friends who performed a barber shop version of “Yes, sir, that’s my baby,
No, sir don’t mean maybe
Yes sir, that’s my baby now!”
as the couple walked back down the nave after the wedding service.
The 7 young men stood in a line by the West door.
It was a delight!
In fact the whole wedding was a delight from start to end.
The evening finishing the whole day with a hog roast and dancing.
The traditional First Dance by the bride and groom had been choreographed by them as we all stood and watched them perform a beautiful routine to a song they had chosen.
It was truly the most magical day.
