Wound up in Wexford

And now they're hitched

Z and S did most of the organisation for their wedding, though I have been able to lend a hand over the last few days.

My final job today was to pick up R from her home in Malmö, and go with her to pick up the cake, which we then slowly and carefully drove out to the venue.  A rather poor quality photo of the cake is included in the extras - it was the best one I managed - hopefully the official photographer will have taken a better picture.

I then helped with the altered table layout, including place names, before returning to the hotel to get changed and catch the wedding bus out to the venue.

Z and S had a lovely wedding, but very different to a traditional British wedding.  Bride and groom were there together to greet their guests on arrival, and encourage them all to enjoy a welcome drink.  I took quite a few photos beforehand, some of which are in extras, and more after the very brief, no nonsense ceremony.  It was interesting to find that the ceremony was largely held in English - the bit in Swedish was there at the request of Z and S, and apparently could also have been in English.

Marmite was suitably adorned, and included in the ceremony, before being collected by her dog minder for the rest of the evening.

Us "oldies" left well before the end of the celebrations, in a taxi back to Lund.  The official wedding bus was not leaving until 0130.

It was a lovely wedding - Z and S had worked hard to organise it, and it all came together well.  There were guests from many parts of the UK, from Bermuda, from Spain, and of course a good number of local friends.
