Midgley Well Dressing.

Another day and another collage. I love a good trail, be it of scarecrows, sculptures, flower pot creations or decorated wells!

Today is known as Spaw Sunday which is a traditional well dressing festival linked to the natural springs around the area of Midgley. Many of the houses around the village are said to have benefitted from such a water supply in years gone by and the first Sunday in May was considered to be the time when the waters were at their purest.

Who knows but the fun of a trail and dressing the wells is good enough for me!
