Glendurgan Garden

We have been lucky with the weather today as it has been sunnier than expected although with a cool breeze.  We decided to visit Glendurgan Garden taking the scenic (narrow roads!) that the sat nav took us.  Once there we soon relaxed as the gardens are spectacular.  There were large swathes of bluebells everywhere some intermingled with orchids, primroses and other wild flowers. The sheltered valley with a stream running through it is full of various semi tropical ferns and plants, there were even orchids and ferns growing from some trees.  A beautiful garden.

Later in the day we took a stroll around Pendennis Castle an artillery fort constructed by Henry VIII near Falmouth, between 1540 and 1542.  There were some good views over the large estuary and beyond.  An evening meal in a good restaurant to finish our holiday.
