Camping gas?

First time I saw a can like this I really thought it was some kind of camping gas tank. Of course I had to go and see, curious as I am.
And I discovered that the tank and also the bucket are used as pheasant and partridge feeders. I have already seen them at a number of different places spread over South-Hesse.
We don't have that many of these birds here, so if "they" feed them just to increase the population I am fine with it. As a fervent opponent of hunting I of course object if the feeding is done to get more "game".
