Saved!
Ali and I spotted these pretty hyacinths in Lidl on Friday. They were looking rather sorry for themselves, but I really fancied having their scent in the house so I bought them. I didn't get around to putting them into a vase until the next day and was very surprised to find tulips hiding amongst the foliage. Two days later and the tulips have emerged and the hyacinths smell lovely. A good deal for just £3.99.
Colin and I had a quiet day. We popped out to the travel agent to check what we have to do in order to be able to travel. Its very complicated and the rules keep changing and I'm pretty sure it'll be down to us to make sure we follow them all! Our passports ce lots of life in them, we've checked in and done our API. We just seem to have to fill in a form 72 hours or less before departure, so that's in the diary.
I went to M&S at the Gyle to buy a new (larger :-( sized) swimsuit. I asked the sales assistant where they were, and she replied "Here, ", waving her arm, "But we don't have many, people keep buying them!"
I was quite restrained, I think, when I said "Imagine that."
"Yes" she says, digging deeper, "people are going on holiday!".
"Must be because it's almost summer" , I said.
No wonder they are losing money if their marketing dept can't work out that after two years of lockdown people are going to want swimsuits for the summer.
I went to Sainsburys at Craigleith, they had a good selection and a range of sizes. Job done.
