I think it's a crane fly. The most extraordinary legs!

The Extra marks the start of cormorant nesting season. Probably you could go back a year or two or three in this journal and find the same photos. The birds return to this precarious ledge every year, build these brittle uncomfortable looking nests, and share hatching duties. I was hoping to catch someone off the nest so I could see how many eggs there were, but that's for another day.
